Riviera Racing

Description

"Riviera Racing" holds a particularly special place in my collection of work.

Drawn seven years before I was fortunate enough to attend the Monaco Grand Prix with my father, it began as an expression of my fascination with one of the world's most iconic sporting events and locations.

Created from an elevated perspective overlooking the circuit, harbour, and cityscape of Monte Carlo, the piece captures my imagination of Monaco long before I experienced it in person.

Through expressive linework and vibrant colour, I sought to convey the energy of Formula One set against the unique backdrop of the marina, mountains, and Mediterranean coastline.

Looking back, the artwork feels almost prophetic. What started as a creative interpretation of a place I dreamed of visiting became even more meaningful when I was able to share the experience with my father years later. For that reason, this piece represents not only the spectacle of the Monaco Grand Prix, but also a personal journey, making it one of my most treasured works.
